How to Care for Your Piercing

Proper aftercare is essential for the healing process of your new piercing. Follow these steps carefully to ensure a smooth healing experience:

  1. 1.) Prepare Your Cleaning Materials

    • Use a Q-tip or cotton round and fray it out slightly.

    • Moderately saturate it with sterile saline solution (wound wash).

  2. 2.) Soak the Piercing

    • Gently wrap the soaked cotton around both the entry and exit points of the piercing.

    • Allow it to absorb for 5-10 minutes.

  3. 3.) Remove Build-Up

    • After soaking, carefully remove any dried blood or "crustys" (dried white blood cells) using the remaining saline on the cotton.

  4. 4.) Ensure Proper Saline Flow

    • Gently rock your jewelry back and forth to allow the saline solution to flow through the wound. Do not twist your piercing!

  5. 5.) Repeat the Cleaning Process

    • Clean your piercing regularly as part of your aftercare routine to aid the healing process.

Things to Avoid

To prevent irritation and infection, avoid the following:

  • Leaving wet hair on your fresh piercing.

  • Using ointments, creams, or oils.

  • Picking at or touching your piercing (except while cleaning).

  • Changing jewelry too early.

  • Twisting your piercing.
